Tracking does not guarantee theft prevention or recovery
Kentrak helps you view recorded vehicle information. It cannot guarantee that your vehicle will not be stolen, that a theft will trigger an alert, or that a stolen vehicle or its contents will be located or recovered. It is not insurance, a police service, an emergency response service or a staffed security monitoring service. Keep appropriate insurance and physical security measures. A displayed location is not a safe instruction to recover a vehicle yourself. Contact police about suspected theft; call 000 in an Australian emergency.
These limitations do not mean Kentrak is immune from liability for its own failures. Any limitation of liability is subject to the Terms and applicable law. Your non-excludable consumer rights remain intact, including any applicable right to compensation. Loss of a vehicle or its contents is not automatically excluded merely because tracking has limitations.
Locations, communication and maps
Positions depend on tracker installation, configuration, power, satellite reception, mobile connectivity and reporting intervals. Buildings, shielding, outages and device faults can affect results. The latest displayed position may be old, approximate or incorrect. Recent tracker contact does not necessarily mean a recent GPS fix; a stationary label does not establish that the ignition is off. A silent tracker does not prove theft or damage. Check timestamps and corroborate important information.
Map imagery is supplied by third parties and may be unavailable or out of date. The app is not a navigation or road-safety system. Do not operate it while driving.
Alerts and geofences
A geofence checks reported positions against a fixed boundary; it does not move with the vehicle. GPS drift can create misleading observations. Fresh repeated reports are needed to confirm state changes. A first confirmed outside observation may trigger an alert without the system having witnessed the crossing. Missing GPS, privacy mode, outages, browser permission, phone settings and delivery providers can prevent or delay alerts. A server outage can prevent its own warning from being sent. A provider's acceptance of a message is not proof that a person received or read it.
An app notification test checks that notification path at that moment, not every future tracking event. Arrange safe physical tests of your installed tracker and phone setup. Do not rely on this app as the sole safeguard for a person or valuable property.
Travel records and maintenance
GPS travel distance, trip boundaries, durations and odometer estimates can contain gaps. They are not substitutes for checking the actual dashboard reading. Exported logbooks are records to review, not certification that a tax claim is valid. Seek appropriate tax advice for your circumstances.
Maintenance reminders use dates, readings and intervals supplied by users. The schedule helper does not retrieve the manufacturer's schedule or establish the correct oil, engine specification or service interval. Use the correct service book or a qualified mechanic, including guidance for severe operating conditions. A reminder does not establish that a vehicle is safe or that work has been completed.
Hardware, simulation and guidance
Device-specific functions vary. Commissioning and general Help instructions do not replace professional installation or the exact manufacturer's requirements. Start-protection/immobiliser features labelled simulation do not prevent starting or stop a vehicle. Live immobilisation is not supplied by the current release. Do not test electrical or safety-critical actions based on a simulated control.
Administrator AI troubleshooting can be incomplete or wrong. It is assistance for a qualified review, not a diagnosis or authority to carry out unsafe work. Verify any proposed change; no generated response overrides manufacturer instructions or legal obligations.

These explanations describe the intended scope and practical limits of the service.
